A free training to learn to implement, and practice inclusive, equitable, resilience-based, trauma-responsive services for everyone.
About this Event

The need to build resilience in this country is enormous! The impact of historical and current trauma taxes the daily lives of significant portions of our community, especially children, people of color, and those living in poverty. The impact on community service professionals is just as challenging, often creating high turnover, staff shortage, and burnout.

In response, the New Mexico Children, Youth, and Families, Department, Behavioral Health Services is sponsoring various training opportunities as part of our statewide initiative to implement and practice inclusive, equitable, resilience-based, trauma-responsive services for everyone.

On these dates, we will be offering:

Family Therapy (3-Days)

This family-focused training is specifically for experienced service providers wanting to enhance skills to engage family members and optimize family resilience for anyone at risk of involvement in child welfare and criminal justice systems. It uses an ecological framework addressing individual, family, community, and larger systems involvement in health promotion for everyone including anyone abused, those who have abused, bystanders, allies, systems of care, and judicial system personnel. It promotes resilience, health, and well-being in the context of everyone’s daily lives.

By the end of this training participants will be able to:

  • Understand the vital roles resilience, compassion, equity, and inclusion play in effective family therapy
  • Identify a clearly defined and structured approach for effective intervention
  • Facilitate user-friendly neuroscience-based activities that promote health and well-being
  • Address self-awareness and personal needs for self-care when providing family therapy
