This year, SLE students will have a unique opportunity to preview through play in an amazing space that is the result of a multi-million dollar capital grant achievement by our Superintendent, that serves students interested in learning about computer science, technology and engineering. This is also a wonderful opportunity for kids across our three campuses to interact and provide peer mentoring1. SLE Cafeteria STEM Stations:
• Make slime with SLVE Science Instructor Christy Bedayan Costello
• Hands on exploration of UCSC Animal Skull Collection with Dr. Robin Dunkin
• Launch straw rockets for longest distance
• Build an aluminum foil boat to hold greatest weight
2. SLVHS Pool STEM Station:
• Build and operate your own remotely operated aquatic vehicle (ROV)
• Create a STEM Mural
3. SLVHS CTE/Makerspace STEM Station:
• Create an electrical circuit
• Operate robots on CTE Robotic Table
• Explore engineering with LEGOS
• Explore physics with GIANT JENGA
• Explore sequencing with GIANT Connect 4
