About this Event

We invite you to join the Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education for our upcoming Critical Issues Forum, "Family Literacy: A Catalyst for Community Transformation" on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Georgia Piedmont Technical College (DeKalb Conference Center). (Registration, networking, and breakfast begin at 9:30 a.m. The program will start promptly at 10:00 a.m.)
Family literacy is more than an educational strategy — it is a powerful driver of long-term wellbeing, economic mobility, and community vitality. This Forum will convene education leaders and community advocates to explore how investing in whole-family learning strengthens children’s academic success, empowers parents and caregivers as lifelong learners and leaders, and strenghtens communities.

Featured speakers include:

  • Dr. Felicia C. Smith, President & CEO, National Center for Families Learning
  • Mr. Greg Dozier, Commissioner, Technical College System of Georgia
  • Ms. Amy Jacobs, Commissioner, Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning
