Join us in celebrating the 2025 State Arbor Day celebration on May 20, 2025, at North Dakota Game and Fish's headquarters in Bismarck. 🌳 This event is free and open to the public.
We are recognizing 30 years since the "Year of the Family" family forest planting, a Centennial Trees project that honored babies born in the year 1994. As many of those honored are having families of their own now, let's continue to celebrate the tradition of tree planting.
The North Dakota Forest Service welcomes anyone to join the fun. We will be handing out 100 FREE tree seedlings to families (while supplies last, courtesy of Towner State Nursery) and providing educational activities for children utilizing the environmental education program Project Learning Tree.
Attendees can help plant the ceremonial tree, explore ND Game and Fish's hiking trails, visit the original Family Forest planting, fish in the OWLS pond, walk the native tree and shrub interpretive trail, and participate in hands-on activities about trees.
