Family day: Sensational science

Are you ready to expand your mind by bringing the whole family to explore ground-breaking discoveries in our walled garden? Activities include:

• Take part in exciting experiments with our friends from King’s College London, the Genetics Society, the Jewish Museum and the Museum of Methodism.
• Hear the tremendous tales of science, scientists and ways of understanding the world.
• Look to the skies and craft your own cosmic comet.
• Uncover more about scientists through history as you explore England’s oldest garden.

On Thursday 20th August there will be BSL interpretation for families.

In the event of wet weather, this event will be run inside the Chapter House and the cloisters.

This event does not include independent access into Westminster Abbey. If you'd like to also book a self-guided ticket, we recommend looking at the Visit us pages to plan a visit during opening hours.

This activity is suitable for children aged 3+.

All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout their time at the Abbey.

This event will meet by the Cloister Entrance to Westminster Abbey in Dean's Yard.

Please have your ticket ready to show our staff (either printed or on your mobile phone).

On your arrival, your bag will be searched and we ask you not to bring any large items with you (for example suitcases, large backpacks or folding bicycles) as these will not be allowed inside and we are unable to store them for you.
