Family Day (8 November)

Visit the Science Oxford Centre for a unique family experience this autumn. Explore, discover and play in the Exploration Zone, where children and grown-ups alike have fun experimenting with interactive exhibits; create and test flying designs at the Air Table, build a giant magnetic ball run, and make fun animations with the Animate Science activity. Pick up an Explorer Backpack and see what wildlife you can spot on our outdoor nature trails.

The autumnal fun continues with a Woodland Pumpkin Trail – spooky outfits encouraged!

Live Lab - pop up activities in the Exploration Zone
Strawberry DNA : Find out more about inheritance and our ‘recipe for life’. Why is life so varied and can you design and carry out your own experimental method for getting the DNA out of a strawberry? Families can try out mini experiments inspired by real world tech and scientific research.

Suitable for ages 3+ (all ages welcome). Under 3s free: please select your free under 3s ticket/s from the 'Add Ons' option; a full price Single Ticket is required to complete your order.

Pre-booking essential. All visitors to the Centre require a ticket.

What is included in your ticket:

• Two-hour timeslot in the Exploration Zone
• Access to the woodland and outdoor areas from 10am–5pm (last entry 4.30pm)
• Access to the pop-up Live Lab in the Exploration Zone
• Parking (limited availability on a first come first serve basis. See visiting and travel information here)

café at the Science Oxford Centre is open from 10am - 4pm. Families are also welcome to bring food and refreshments to eat at our lunch tables.

Additional Support

If you're a visitor with a disability and you need a carer, personal assistant, or essential companion, free carer tickets are available to book via the 'Add On's option to help you with access during the visit.

Prices, terms of booking/refunds policy

£8.50 per person (includes Eventbrite booking fee). Free tickets available for Under 3s and Carers via the 'Add On' option. (see FAQs Carer Tickets on scienceoxford.com for criteria details).

Due to the ongoing site improvement works, you may notice some changes to the area immediately outside the centre. There may be temporary diversions in place directing access to parking - please use all bays available. There may also be diverted access to the woodland and trails.
