Family Cooking

For kids aged 7-12 and their parent(s)/caregiver(s)

Let’s cook!

Family meals are a great time to connect with each other and share the day’s experiences. Eating meals together promotes a food health connection, as well as an opportunity to talk about and model good nutrition and health behaviors. Having children help prepare meals provides lots of opportunities for learning and life skill practice. This will be key to talk about the colors, textures, and other characteristics of each type of food on your plate to build excitement about healthy eating. It also gives them a sense of purpose and family responsibility.

During this event, families will be in groups of 3 or 4 to cook healthy recipes. We will discuss food and kitchen safety. At the end of cooking, we will taste and review everyone’s recipes! Each participant will receive hands-on, healthy fun for the whole family.

Registration opens May15.

Space is limited and registration is required. **Please reserve one ticket for each person that will attend — adults AND children need tickets for this event.**
