Get ready to play with clay! In this fun kids pottery class, young artists will create their very own ceramic Tic-Tac-Toe game set using handbuilding techniques. Students will design and build a game board while sculpting unique Xs and Os—or get creative with themed game pieces like animals, monsters, or favorite shapes. Along the way, they'll learn the basics of working with clay, add textures and decorations, and finish their creations with colorful glazes. When the pieces are fired, they'll have a handmade game that's perfect for family game nights
Participants will receive a short studio tour & get to pick the perfect glaze for their creations. All participants’ work will be checked/looked over by the instructor to ensure it will survive the firing.
SCCA staff will fire and glaze all pieces following the class. Participants will be emailed when their pieces are complete and ready for pickup. This takes a minimum of 4-6 weeks.
Youth & Family Clay Workshops are creative, hands-on classes open to families and youth ages 7 and up. Kids ages 7+ may attend independently or alongside a parent or guardian. Children as young as 3 are welcome with a registered adult — in this case, both the child and accompanying adult must each register for the class. Families are encouraged to create together and make it a fun, collaborative experience!
All sign-ups are $30 per person, regardless of age. Each participant must be registered individually.
