Farrington's Scary Fairy Saves Christmas! is a piece for narrator and orchestra telling a story by Craig Charles. The orchestral score is in the musical story-telling tradition of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf - each character has its own melody that changes and develops to follow the action. The Tam o' Shanter Overture by Malcolm Arnold is a highly entertaining piece of programme music based on the famous poem by Robert Burns. And Ravel's Mother Goose Suite is based around well-known fairy tales
