Families from across the Alberni Valley are invited to celebrate creativity, play, and community at the Family Arts Festival, taking place February 14 and 15 at the Glenwood Centre, from 10 am to 2 pm both days. This free, family-friendly event is presented by the Alberni Arts Council and is designed to give children, youth, and caregivers the chance to create, explore, and enjoy the arts together.
The festival will feature free art-making stations, hands-on workshops, live music, performances, face painting, balloon art, a scavenger hunt, and much more. Activities are designed for all ages and skill levels, making it easy for families to drop in, try something new, and spend quality time together in a welcoming, creative environment. The full and most up-to-date schedule of activities, performers, and workshops will be posted at avfamilyartsfest.com
A highlight of the weekend is the Youth Market, sponsored by Community Futures, which gives young entrepreneurs and artists aged up to 19 years old the opportunity to sell their handmade goods, art, and creative products. The Youth Market is a unique chance for young people to gain real-world experience, connect with customers, and build confidence through creativity and enterprise.
The Community Arts Council of the Alberni Valley extends sincere thanks to the festival’s generous sponsors: AD Co-Op, Coastal Credit Union, Port Alberni Port Authority, Funtastic, the City of Port Alberni, Peak and Valley Art Therapy, and Coombs Country Candy.
Their support helps ensure that all activities at the Family Arts Festival remain free and accessible to the community.
This festival proudly supported by the BC Arts Council Community Arts Festivals program.
