Trilogy features music inspired by three works of art: sculptures The Whistler and The Bather, and an oil and acrylic painting, Thicket No. 43, by Jeffrey Vaughn.
Jean King composed the music for both the eighty-minute feature length film and the fifteen-minute short film and wrote the lyrics for Family Album. Ann Morrissey Davidson is the cinematographer. Both films are a community effort by vocalists, dancers, and actors. Filming took place on location in the greater Alton area.
The video includes dance by Altonian Bruce Alexander and performing arts students from Principia College. Solo vocalists are Alison Neace, Doug Burns, Ron Abraham, and area chorus members. The music genre ranges from pop to neo-classical.
The presentation is free, and DVDs will be available for purchase for $10.
