Family Affair - Charlie & Louie Marshall - with Flash Poetry

Family Affair - the father-son partnership of singer songwriter Charlie Marshall and jazz improvising multi-instrumentalist Louie Marshall - journey to their favourite Melbourne venue, the Tav, to launch a new single “Glad to be alive” and preview songs off their upcoming album. Charlie is best known for the 1980s post punk blues of Harem Scarem and the Body Electric - which featured members of Dirty Three, Beasts of Bourbon and the Avalanches. Family Affair couple Charlie’s soulful vocals and rhythm guitar with Louie’s instinctive musical touch on piano, sax and harmony vocals to create a rich folk rock sound.
Support is from Melbourne based poet and freestyler Flash Poetry - aka the Philosorapper - a unique, genre bending performer who blends spoken word, hip-hop, jazz and alt-rock into an erudite brew exploring modern myths and the mystery of consciousness.
