Learn how to take the power and impact out of difficult cognitive repertoires – quickly and simply – without any need to challenge, dispute or invalidate thoughts. This experiential session on ‘cognitive defusion’ – a core process from Acceptance & Commitment Therapy – will show you how to do so. You’ll get to test several defusion methods on yourself, so you can see how effective it is – and see some videos of Russ teaching defusion skills to an autistic client who had previously found cognitive restructuring too difficult.
