Families Inclusive Practice
About this Event
What is 'Family Inclusive Practice'?
This session is designed to be an in-depth look at all aspects of families support needs, what we are aiming for within Scotland, and how practitioners can adapt innovative approaches to best include families.
What do we cover?
- Define family inclusive practice.
- Recognise the impact on, and support needs of families affected by others’ substance misuse in their own right.
- Relate family engagement to positive, sustained recovery outcomes for individuals misusing substances and their families.
- Recognise the influence of practitioner values on family inclusive practice.
- Identify engagement strategies and opportunities to incorporate families in own practice to support family recovery.
Why is this important?
Including and supporting families is a key focus in Scotland and is associated with positive outcomes for everyone. This session helps to explore the small, manageable steps practitioners can take towards achieving this and strive towards true family-inclusion. Further information can be found at our Family Inclusive Practice (FIP) website.
