Description:
Join FPGC Members, neighbors, friends, family and City of Raleigh Dist. 4 Parks staff in removing invasive, non-native plant species from Fallon Park. Gain insight on the impact of invasive plants on our environment. Also learn to ID these species and best practices for removal.
Duties and Impact:
Volunteers will use handsaws or loppers to cut and remove invasive plants from designated areas. Only volunteers ages 18 and up will be able to use hand saws.
Invasive species out-compete the native plants that animals rely on for food and shelter. By removing these problem plants, we are giving our native plant and animal species a chance to thrive.
