Falling Walls Lab Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia gives opportunities to all talented researchers and professionals to showcase their most innovative ideas.
We would like to call your attention to Falling Walls Lab. Falling Walls Lab is a world-class pitch competition, networking forum, and steppingstone that brings together a diverse and interdisciplinary pool of students and early-career professionals by providing a stage for breakthrough ideas both globally and locally. The multifaceted formats support participants in driving their innovations and develop their communication skills, fostering collaboration and creating a space for the impactful and sustainable community to thrive.
Each year, renowned academic institutions around the world organise their own Falling Walls Lab to showcase the quality, diversity, and passion of their region’s most innovative minds. In three minutes each, participants are given the opportunity to present their solutions to some of the most pressing challenges of our time to peers, a high-calibre jury, and the general public. The winner of each international Lab qualifies for the global finale in Berlin on November 6, 2026 and wins a ticket to attend the Falling Walls Science Summit, where they get to interact and network with the world’s movers and shakers of science, business, and policymaking
On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of educational cooperation between Mongolia and the Federal Republic of Germany, Falling Walls Lab Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia 2026 will take place on 11 September 2026 at 13:00 at the Library of the National University of Mongolia, Conference Room 502, and online via Zoom as a hybrid event.
Falling Walls Lab Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia 2026 is hosted by the German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) and organised by the Arts & Media Project Management & Consulting NGO (AMPMC) in cooperation with GMIT and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The event is co-organised by the National University of Mongolia (NUM), with DAAD contributing its institutional expertise, international networks, and long-standing experience in academic exchange to ensure academic quality, transparent selection procedures, and the international integration of the format.
The event is supported by the Embassy of Germany in Ulaanbaatar, the Ministry of Economy and Development of Mongolia, and the Ministry of Education of Mongolia as official partners, as well as by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany and the International Network of Women Engineers and Scientists (INWES). Media partners include Energy Insight Magazine and Urug.mn.
