🍂 Fall Workday in the Garden – Tuesday, October 21Join us for our Fall Workday on Tuesday, October 21, from 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Hart County Botanical Garden.
A task list will be provided (and we always need help picking up fallen limbs!)
- Bring gloves, water, a hat, and any garden tools you’re comfortable using
- The Garden provides fried chicken tenders; water and paper goods.
- The Friends who wish to and the Garden Events Committee provide dishes and desserts to share.
On top of our usual task list, we’ve got a special project for this workday—tackling Autumn Ferns in the creekbed! While they may look lovely, these ferns are sneaky invaders that spread through waterways across Georgia and cause trouble for local ecosystems. Come lend a hand and help us keep the garden thriving. If you’re joining in, be sure to bring:
- Waterproof shoes or boots that you don’t mind getting wet
- Gloves
- Completely optional, but waders would be a good idea if you have them!
Workdays are always rewarding, fun, and a wonderful way to spend time in the Garden while helping it thrive. If you haven’t joined us before, this is a perfect time to start—come lend a hand!
New This Year: Fall Native Plant Sale!
During our Fall Workday on Tuesday, October 21, we’ll also be holding a small Native Plant Sale right here at the Garden!
Available plants include fringe tree, buttonbush, elderberry, native viburnum, and more. Inventory is limited, so it will be first come, first served.
Fall is the best time to plant natives—come help with the Garden, then take home a few beauties to support pollinators and add seasonal interest to your own landscape! 🌸🦋
