Join us for the third hike in our seasonal Phenology Hike series with a guided fall walk exploring the changing rhythms of the natural world as autumn settles in. As temperatures cool and the days grow shorter, plants and animals prepare for the coming winter through migration, seed dispersal, dormancy, and other remarkable seasonal adaptations. This fall hike offers a unique opportunity to observe how the landscape transforms during one of the most dynamic times of the year. Participants will build on the concept of phenology—the study of nature’s seasonal rhythms—and discover how careful observation can deepen our connection with the more-than-human world. As the third program in this four-part series that meets once each season, this hike offers a chance to revisit the same landscape and witness its transformation throughout the year. Each hike can stand alone, but together they create a richer understanding of the ever-changing cycles that shape the natural world.
