We continue our collaboration with The West Shore Theatre and The New Cumberland Collective to bring you the Fall Edition of our Seasonal Open Mic Night, hosted by some of our favorite area musicians and Susquehanna Folk friends. Take center stage in one of the most beautiful venues in the area. In addition to just being a ton of fun, this is a great way to get on the radar of SFMS for future gigs! READ ON FOR MORE INFO!
IS THIS EVENT FREE?
In order to keep this awesome Open Mic going on into the future, a $5 COVER is now REQUIRED of all performers AND patrons. This helps the theatre cover the cost of running the event!
WHAT STYLES OF MUSIC ARE WELCOME?
We welcome a diversity of musical styles, originals and covers, and poetry and comedy too. We love to hear folks express their art.
WHEN AND HOW DO I SIGN UP?
Signup begins at 5:30 when doors open for the Open Mic. Lately a line starts forming outside the theater doors as early as 30 min. Find our host and put your name on the list as you enter!
HOW LONG WILL EACH SET BE?
That will always be a little fluid depending on how many folks sign up, but we suggest planning for a 3 song set, be prepared with your two favorites.
WHAT IS THE SOUND SITUATION?
Our expert sound crew will be ready to amplify you — or you plus a couple friends. We will have 3 microphones and 3 direct inputs.
ARE ALL INSTRUMENTS WELCOME? DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN?
All instruments are welcome as long as they can be moved on and off stage quickly. We can accommodate light percussion such as hand drums or cajons, but not full drum sets. There will be no backline provided, so bring whatever instruments you need.
CAN MY WHOLE BAND PLAY?
Yes! In the interest of speedy turn-around between acts, we recommend keeping it simple.
IS THERE FOOD?
WST concessions offers popcorn, nachos, pretzel bites, candy, cookies, fountain sodas, bottled water, iced tea, lemonade and we sell a variety of beer, wine, cider, seltzer, and slushies. No outside food or beverage is permitted.
