Fall Lecture Series A Different Perspective on Streambank Restoration
Brian Auman, Landscape Architect and Community Planner
What does it really mean to restore a stream? The term restoration carries different meanings depending on who you ask. This presentation takes a broader, long-term perspective on stream restoration, exploring how human activity has shaped and modified streams over time—and what we are learning as we work to holistically restore streams and their floodplains in Pennsylvania.
Brian will share insights from his decades of experience in community and watershed planning, presenting real-world projects that highlight innovative restoration approaches. He’ll also discuss current opportunities and challenges facing local watersheds, offering a fresh perspective on how watershed planning can create lasting ecological and community benefits.
