The Fort Leavenworth Rod & Gun Club Fall Kid’s Fishing Derby will take place on September 27th at Merritt Lake on Fort Leavenworth.This event is open to the public, installation access is required, age 15 and younger. Kids will compete in five separate age groups: 4 and under, 5-6, 7-9, 10-12 and 13-15.
Registration begins at 8:00 AM at Merritt Lake, the derby occurs from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Awards will be presented as soon as the derby is complete and totals are tallied.
This event is free for the children of Rod and Gun Club Members.
The cost for children of non-members is $3.00 per child.
Awards presented for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place finishers along
with a Big Fish award in each age group
There will be numerous door prizes given away, along with
hotdogs and drinks for sale. There will be a limited amount
of fishing worms for sale for $2 a cup, first come first
served.
