Day One:
Where and when: Saturday 5th Sept, Meydenbauer Centre, Bellevue, WA, USA. Doors open at 10am. Ceremony begins at 2pm. Whilst the exact finish time is not set, it is likely to be around 6pm.
Costs: Free admission but it is customary to offer a red packet with a donation of whatever amount you wish during the empowerment. Please obtain cash before hand as there is no ATM facility onsite.
Getting there: best to use the Light Rail as parking is very limited locally and if the venue's parking becomes full it can be a real nuisance trying to find parking elsewhere. It is easy to catch a taxi using Uber, Lyft, Arro, Obi or similar. See https://english.tbsseattle.org/site/ceremony_place.
Food: No food is provided due to venue restrictions. The venue has some food outlets and does NOT allow outside food to be brought in. Please either eat from the venue's restaurants or eat offsite. https://english.tbsseattle.org/site/venue_overview
New Books & Spiritual Fair - Yifu Cultural are pleased to announce that for the Spring Ceremony 2026 we will have an English books booth.
In addition to Yifu, there will be a spiritual fair of stalls from temples and selected retailers, offering a great opportunity to increase one's resources and practice aids
Wedding blessings - True Buddha School does NOT conduct marriages. You need to get married legally locally, such as with a registrar or other provider. You may then request that Grandmaster blesses your marriage to be auspicious, fulfilling and life-long. If you want to request this, please do so here: https://english.tbsseattle.org/weddingblessing?ref=CR_46IWQ9
Bestowal of bodhisattva vows - the Bodhisattva vows relate to making the commitment to always work for the liberation of others. On one hand vows generate power and so one with them can make greater progress. On the other hand they are a serious commitment and shouldn't be taken flippantly. One should read over the Bodhisattva vows of TBS first as you'll need to memorise and live by them. If you're up for that, apply here: https://english.tbsseattle.org/receivingprecepts...
Ordination of new monks/nuns - Contact your country's TBS Vajrayana Association or the True Buddha Foundation to apply. Too late for this ceremony.
Grand calamity aversion, blessing and bardo deliverance - Grandmaster conducts a special type of ritual at these ceremonies. It looks similar to the dance of mudras we see him perform during homas, but without the fire homa. This is one of his biggest interventions in our bad karma, warding off many troubles that otherwise would have plagued us in the upcoming months. To gain this golden blessing, one should register for this here: https://english.tbsseattle.org/site/ceremony
Teaching & dharma transmission - Mahastamaprapta is one of the two great bodhisattvas that support Amitabha Buddha to form the Purelands Trinity. The other is Avalokitesvara (Guanyin). Whilst Avalokitesvara operates the gate of compassion, Mahastamaprapta operates the gate of wisdom. Despite being part of one of the most important trinities in Buddhism, few people pray to Mahastamaprapta. In a worldly sense, practicing their dharma can easily lead to increases in authority and status, as well as the suppression of demonic obstacles whilst in a transcendental sense, practicing this dharma can enable a swift rebirth in the Purelands.
