About this event
Hooray!!! It's time for the 2025 Fall Forum Retreat being held at Missouri Star Quilt Company Sewing Center. Join us for great fellowship, plenty of sewing time, yummy snacks, bunches of fun, and a few SURPRISES. If you want to know more about us, you may find us on the Missouri Star Quilt Company website. Scroll to the bottom of the page and under the About column, click on Forum.
This special event is all about connecting with fellow quilters, sharing inspiration, and enjoying a creative escape in Hamilton, MO.
There will be no structured classes presented by Missouri Star but mini-classes and presentations by other forum members will be scheduled periodically throughout the event. The supply list for these classes can be found on the Missouri Star Forum - 2025 Fall Forum Group. This list will be updated as we add and finalize the classes.
This is your retreat so feel free to participate in as many or few activities as you wish. Many people bring their own projects to work on. You may not want to take a class and if you choose not to do this you will want to bring projects to work on. Your free time is your own to do as you please. We will have demonstrations and optional mini classes throughout the retreat. You can participate in these classes if you wish. You can shop at a MSQC shop or browse through one of the area stores. There is always something to do in Hamilton.
In order for it to be a peaceful, relaxing environment for everyone, please use headphones/earbuds if you wish to listen to music or watch a video on your computer, etc.
Activities (all are optional)
- T-shirts will be ordered on August 1, 2025. Any retreater making reservations after July 28, 2025, will not receive a retreat t-shirt.

- We will Show and Tell each evening for those who wish to participate.
- The group picture will be taken on Tuesday.
- We will be providing mini classes and a supply list for the mini classes will be emailed and posted once the classes are finalized.
- And finally, a Scavenger Hunt will take place on Tuesday.
All activities are subject to additions and changes.
What to Expect?
Sleeping Rooms - Most rooms are upstairs and are shared - there are no private rooms available, and a chair lift is available for assistance. There are two ADA rooms available upon request by calling the Retreat Center (816-265-1812) or via email at [email protected].
Meals – Dinner will be served on Monday evening @ 6 pm. A continental breakfast (8-9am), lunch (noon-1pm), and dinner (6-7pm) will be served on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. On Friday morning, enjoy a hot "farewell" breakfast before you check out and get on the road! Do you require meal accommodation? We are able to offer Gluten Free, Lactose Intolerant, and Regular Meal Options. Please be sure to note this when you purchase your ticket.
Snacks - We set out a snack table - because sewing definitely makes us all snack-y. We provide light snacks for the group but if there is something particular you crave, feel free to bring it.
Kitchenette – There is coffee, tea, water, and ice available for us. We do have use of the kitchen area except when the meals are being served. The kitchen has a refrigerator, oven, microwave, and dishwasher that we can use. If you have a favorite cup you like to use, please consider bring it. (Retreat Center is all paper products.) Please be considerate to others and clean up after you use the kitchen
Sewing Table Seating – Each person will have their own well-lit 4’x2’ sewing table (personal sewing lamps are optional and we ask that you do not bring your own tables), power strips, cutting/ironing tables. If you need your personal sewing chair, feel free to bring it.
If you are traveling with a friend or friends and would like to either room or sit together - no problem! Please make your request by emailing Charyti Jackson at [email protected].
Sewing Machines - You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine (don't forget all your cords)!! But if you want to travel light, you can absolutely rent one of our machines at a cost of $75 for the duration of the retreat. If you need to reserve a machine, please indicate this on your registration form and pay for this option during the checkout process. You will see the "add-on" at the end of the listing of the room selection.
