Join us for our Fall Flyway Festival Round Robin in Athens, Georgia!
The weekend begins Friday, September 18 at 6:00 PM with a welcome event at Sunrise Nursery. Learn how native plants fuel bird migration and support birds year-round while enjoying bird-inspired refreshments, shopping for native plants, and browsing artwork from local artists.
On Saturday, September 19, the main event begins at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. Morning sessions begin at 8:00 AM with the option to choose from a guided bird walk, plant walk, or bird banding demonstration.
The day's program also includes a native plant sale, opportunities to connect with community partners, and presentations by Heather Alley on the best Georgia native plants for birds, and biologist Lauren Gingerella on restoring previously developed lands to support biodiversity.
After lunch and a little friendly trivia competition, settle in for our keynote address. In "Flowers, Birds, and Creative Symbiosis: Past and Future," David Haskell will explore the ancient partnership between birds and flowering plants and what it can teach us about the future of life on Earth.
Registration includes both Friday evening’s welcome event and the full Saturday program at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia. Tickets are $75 for Birds Georgia members, $100 for non-members, and $40 for students with ID.
