Join us for a new Fall Field Trip as we take part in Dalhousie University's Biodiversity Day! For this day program, we'll start out with expert-guided biodiversity tours of outdoor spaces on Dal's campus, learning about different groups of life like plants, animals, and fungi and documenting what we find (also known as a "BioBlitz"). We'll then break for lunch before taking part in an afternoon tour of Dal's campus, focusing on STEM-related spaces like their Life Sciences Centre. This Field Trip is intended to give older Terranaut Club participants an opportunity to explore biodiversity in an urban centre like Halifax and contribute to a BioBlitz, tour a University campus (with this summer's Wildlife Conservation Program Lead Dani Guerin) and learn about Dalhousie University's different STEM programs.
Participants should come prepared with multiple snacks and a lunch, comfortable shoes, a backpack, and raincoat.
Unlike our summer programs, there is no nomination process for field trips. Registration is first come, first served, and can be completed on the program’s Eventbrite page. This program is pay-what-you-can, and your donation must be made upon registering. If you are not able to make an online donation, please contact Alanna at coordinator[at]terranautclub.com ASAP to reserve a space. If the program is full and you would like to be placed on the waiting list, please contact Alanna.
