September 21 (rain date September 22nd)

Graves-Oakley Park. 100 Leibin Dr.
* Meeting at the playground with the firetruck!
Join us at Graves-Oakley Park (100 Leibin Dr) for a community building nature discovery! We will meet at 10:30am and take a moment to introduce ourselves. The Dalhousie Bird Society volunteers Sarah and Paige will lead a guided walk on the nearby wooded trail. During this educational and insightful nature walk you will learn about birding best practices as well as bird and plant species identification. Sarah and Paige will be bringing tools and games to make the walk even more engaging. They are thrilled to answer all your questions!
After the walk, we will be serving a free lunch (vegan and gluten free option). We hope you plan to stick around and get to know your neighbors!
As a way to show our gratitude for mother nature, we invite all the participants to take part in a litter pick up after lunch. We will have clean up supplies available on site.
To help us prepare for the event, please reserve your free ticket through Eventbrite.
Children 12 and under do not require a ticket.
Need-to-know event Info;

We recommend you bring the following:

Accessibility consideration and trail description: The trail begins with a gravel path and quickly becomes a narrow wooded trail with lots of roots and rocks to step over. There was also a considerable amount of softer, muddy ground due to rain when we were last on the trail.
There is a porta potty by the adjacent baseball field for restroom needs.
By participating in this event, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with this activity. There will be hand sanitizer and a basic first aid kit on site.
This event is open to individuals of all ages and abilities.
Children under 12 can attend with a guardian without reserving a ticket.
Please do not bring any pets with you.
We strive to make all LifeSchoolHouse events as accessible as we can. If you have a dietary restriction or medical condition that we need to be aware of ahead of time, or any questions please reach out to the event coordinators at: [email protected]
