Join us for a magical night under the stars at our annual Fall Family Backyard Campout! From Saturday, September 27th to Sunday, September 28th, families are invited to pitch a tent, unplug from daily routines, and connect with nature and one another through a night of outdoor fun and exploration.
This family-friendly overnight experience includes a guided night hike, a cozy campfire complete with s’mores, stargazing, nature crafts, self-guided activities, and the soothing sounds of the forest. Wake up to crisp morning air and birdsong in our peaceful woodland setting—just minutes from home. Whether you’re new to camping or an experienced outdoor enthusiast, this is a perfect way to introduce your kids to the joys of nature in a safe, welcoming space.
Each campsite registration covers up to 5 people. Indoor restrooms, outdoor electricity, and fresh water are available. Review our suggested packing list for guidance. Please bring your own dinner and breakfast—coolers are welcome, and picnic tables are available. No open flames allowed, but camp stoves are permitted.
Dunwoody Nature Center will provide hammers/mallets for tent setup and all s’mores supplies (feel free to bring your own if you have dietary restrictions).
Registration closes September 24th. If you’re interested in attending after the deadline, please email [email protected] to check availability. This program requires a minimum number of sign-ups. If the minimum is not met, participants will be contacted and refunds issued within 7–10 days.
