26-27 October at Camp Elk River
About this Event
We welcome Daisy - Ambassador Girl Scout Troops to join us 26-27 October 2024. Scouts will enjoy some science and wizard activities centered on the completion of a Legacy Journey as well as some girl lead badge activities.
Troop Leaders should complete one registration for their entire Troop. All Troops need to follow Safetywise ratios for girl/adult overnight and daytime supervision of girls.
Juliette Scouts accompanied by a Parent/Guardian/or Juliette Mentor are welcome to register and need to substitute their Juliette number for the Troop number on the registration. Juliette Scouts will be bunked with other Juliette Scouts or Troops.
Individual girl registrations are welcome. An adult must accompany any Juliette or individually registered girl for the duration of the weekend. Individual girl registrations will be bunked with Juliette Scouts or Troops.
Check in begins at 9:00am 26 October 2024, and check out is at 11:30am on 27 October 2024. Troops will lodge together in an assigned cabin or dorm area at Camp Elk River.
A full event schedule, packing list, and sleeping assignment will be sent out to registered Troops the week prior to the event. Bring appropriate outdoor gear and attire in anticipation of spending one to two hours outdoors.
There is absolutely NO wearing of socks, bare feet or any type of slippers in the Gray Koch or dorm buildings. Everyone must wear closed toed shoes at all times. This will be enforced and you will be asked to put on appropriate closed toed shoes to participate in camp activities.
We will be providing the s’mores snack for the Scouts own on Saturday night. If you have Scouts with food allergies or dietary needs for this snack, please note this on your registration.
Please ensure your scout has had breakfast before arriving at camp. We will be providing lunch, dinner, and snacks on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday morning. Please note any allergy concerns on your registration.
Follow Safety Wise rules for adult/girl ratios. Each Troop must have at least one trained adult who is CPR and First Aid Certified, and has been trained in Girl Scouts River Valley’s Girls Sleep In training. The Sleep in training is a self-guided and downloadable from the council volunteer website.
Electronic games, portable electronic devices, tablets, and electronic toys of any kind are not allowed. We discourage the use of cell phones and will not tolerate girls texting or gaming during Camp activities. However we will allow girls to use their personal phone to capture photographs. Girls caught using their phone to play games, text, or do activities besides taking photos will receive a verbal warning. Any follow up cell phone infractions will result in the phone being confiscated. Any confiscated electronic device will be returned during parent pick up at the end of camp. The camp staff will not be held responsible for any lost or damaged electronic device.
Adults registering as an "Event Volunteer"- are part of the planning group and will be provided a code for registration. You are required to stay onsite starting at 7:00pm 25 October 2024 and work at stations assigned by the Camp Director.
