FOUR RACES: OCTOBER 7, 14, 21, and 28Online registration ONLY. Registration opens on Wednesday for the following week and closes at noon on the day of the race. Or save time by paying for the entire series up-front.
HOSTED BY: SendTown Bike Club, a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and our Community Partners, courtesy of New Belgium Brewing in Fort Collins. This is a fundraiser event that helps SendTown put on awesome bike and unicycle youth programs throughout the year.
TIMES AND CATEGORIES:
4:00 PM - Event Opens
4:45 PM - Adult Beginner/Advanced Junior
5:10 PM - Adult Intermediate
5:45 PM - Adult Open, Single Speed, Klunker, and Unicycle!
The unicycle category goes last (5:45 PM). However, you can (and should) pre-ride the course before race time. While riding, be respectful of other categories and yield to riders during their race. Dylan likes to accomplish this by starting at the back of the beginner and intermediate categories (listed above) and riding a single lap or pulling off early if the race catches up.
For the actual unicycle race, we will do two complete laps. Expect to be passed by the bike racers at the end of your first lap or the beginning of your second lap.
This course is longer and more difficult than a standard NAUCC cyclocross course, but it is a ton of fun. The course is known to change week-to-week, so don't assume that what you rode in previous weeks will be exactly the same in the future.
There is always a food truck (usually Corn Doggies) and beer available for purchase. Dylan typically sticks around after the last category for a beer and to chat with fellow riders.
Bring a costume for the last race (October 28th)!
