We have our annual fall cleanup coming up on Saturday, September 21. Come join your South Side neighbors and Duquesne students to help pick up leaves and litter in the neighborhood! This is a great opportunity to meet more neighbors on your block and also feel good about improving our neighborhood. Bags, gloves, and other equipment will be provided. Feel free to bring your own equipment such as W**d whackers.Saturday, September 21
Clean up 10am-12pm
Lunch + Closing Ceremony at Velum Fermentation: 1-3pm
If you plan on attending, please fill out this form so we can know how many people to expect. Feel free to share this invitation with your neighbors! https://forms.gle/sbnLAza7m6TqxGdC8
We chose Saturday, September 21 as our fall cleanup day because it is the day of the city's fall Garbage Olympics where neighborhoods across Pittsburgh will compete against each other for prizes including most trash collected, largest team, weirdest item found, and most spirit. Since we have so many neighbors that participate in our cleanups year after year, I'm hopeful that we will represent South Side well on Garbage Olympics day! Also, the "closing ceremony" for all Garbage Olympics participants is being held at Velum so it will be a good opportunity to make our neighborhood look great before everyone heads our way from their respective neighborhoods.
