Fall Bird Migration Outing & Talk
About this Event
Join us for a guided bird outing at 8am. Meet at the Tugboat at Model Boat Pond at the northern end of the complex.
After the outing, we have an in-store presentation at 11am at WBU East on Menaul.
Josiah will discuss Fall Migration - The Ins and Outs of a Perennial Pilgrimage: Every spring, billions of birds fly thousands of miles from wintering grounds in equatorial regions to distant latitudes. Some migrate several thousand miles across open ocean, staying in flight for days at a time before arriving in the far north with precise timing to raise young during the brief arctic summer.
Tingley Beach has restrooms and plenty of parking on the north end of the complex. The trails are flat with a mix of paved and gravel surfaces. Expect to be out for ~1.5 miles.
Whether you’re new to looking at birds or a seasoned birder, this is a great opportunity to learn, look, listen, and enjoy the birds around us. Join us for one or both events.
