The Faiz Peace Festival (Faiz Amn Mela) is more than a cultural gathering. It is a celebration of conscience, solidarity, and hope. Rooted in Faiz's poetry and vision, the festival brings together artists, thinkers, students, activists, and communities who believe in the power of culture, dialogue, and collective action to build a more just and peaceful world.

Through poetry, music, theatre, dance, literature, and discussion, the festival celebrates South Asia's rich tradition of progressive thought and resistance. It provides a platform for diverse voices to engage with the pressing social, political, and cultural issues of our time.

This is not a commercialised tribute. It is a reclaiming of Faiz's spirit: a space where art meets activism, where ideas inspire action, and where poetry becomes a call to conscience. The festival transcends boundaries of nationality, ethnicity, religion, and language, fostering mutual understanding and a shared commitment to equality, social justice, and human dignity.

✨ Evening Highlights

• Moneeza Hashmi - renowned Pakistani broadcaster, television producer, writer, and media executive. She is the younger daughter of Ayls Faiz and celebrated poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz
• Noor Zaheer - acclaimed Indian author, feminist, journalist, playwright, and social activist known for her contributions to progressive literature. She is the daughter of renowned Urdu writers Sajjad Zaheer and Razia Sajjad Zaheer
• Dr. Ammar Ali Jan- Pakistani historian, academic, author, and General Secretary, Haqooq-e-Khalq Party
• Neha Bora- Student activist, theatre practitioner, and PhD scholar at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). She serves as the National President of the All India Students' Association (AISA) Neha Bora will be joining us online.
• Sohal Ahmed- an acclaimed Pakistani actor, comedian, and writer whose legendary character Azizi has become a household name across South Asia. He has entertained audiences for decades while using satire to reflect on social and contemporary issues.
• Mira Hashmi is a writer, film scholar, and cultural commentator whose work bridges literature, cinema, and the arts. As the granddaughter of Faiz Ahmed Faiz and the daughter of artist Salima Hashmi, she carries forward a rich cultural legacy while contributing her own voice to discussions on film, literature, and progressive thought.
• Atif Touqeer is a journalist, writer, poet, and media researcher whose work explores politics, culture, migration, and social change in South Asia and beyond. Based in Germany, he is widely recognised for his insightful commentary, literary contributions, and commitment to progressive values.
• Naeem Mirza-writer and commentator with a longstanding interest in progressive politics, literature, and social justice.

• 🎶 Live Concert: Experience an evening of soulful music with Baluch Twins- from Lyari to London. Adil and Asim Baluch are acclaimed singers and musicians whose journey began in the vibrant neighbourhood of Lyari, Karachi.
• Ustad Wahdat Rameez- Performing exclusively at the Faiz Peace Festival, Wahdat Rameez will present a special selection of Sufi, folk, and Faiz-inspired poetry, celebrating themes of peace, love, human dignity, and cultural harmony.
• Ali Sheir is a gifted bansuri (bamboo flute) player, researcher, and cultural practitioner whose work bridges South Asian classical music, heritage, and contemporary cultural dialogue.
• Keval Joshi- At the Faiz Peace Festival, Keval Joshi will present a special tabla performance, showcasing the rhythmic beauty and virtuosity of classical South Asian percussion in an exclusive musical experience for festival audiences.
