Did you know that the most frequent command in the bible is “Do not be afraid?” How I want to live like that, don’t you? The bible also commands over and over that we “fear the LORD." Far from being contradictory, these commands work together to encourage us toward building a strong faith that has the power to deliver us from the multitude of fears that plague our daily lives.
In our time together, we are going to explore the kinds of fears that chip away at faith and gradually enslave us, and the kind of fear that builds faith to strengthen us and help us begin to understand the freedom from fear Paul speaks of when he says he has learned to be content in every circumstance. (Philippians 4:11-13) Jesus came that we might have life and joy and peace even in the hardest things we face in this life. Understanding what the bible says about fear is one important key to knowing what this means. Join us to talk about it!
