About this Event

Join us for an engaging roundtable discussion on the critical role of religion in shaping migration experiences across Latin America and its diasporas. While often overlooked in migration studies, faith communities, religious institutions, and spiritual practices profoundly influence the lives of migrants and the communities that receive, support, and accompany them.

Bringing together scholars and practitioners, this conversation will examine the intersections of migration, religion, gender, sexualities, race, ethnicity, human rights, advocacy, and belonging. Drawing on perspectives from the Andean region, Latin America as a region of origin, transit, and destination, and Latinx diasporas in the United States and Europe, panelists will explore how religious actors respond to the challenges and opportunities created by unprecedented levels of human mobility and displacement.

We invite students, faculty, researchers, practitioners, and community members to join us for this timely discussion on the social, cultural, and political dimensions of migration in the Americas and beyond.
