Faith on Fire: Radical Forgiveness, w/ Sr. Orianne Pietra René, FSP

Event Details: Bonfire and time for fellowship begins at 7:30pm, and the talk begins at 8pm. We will be located in the field to the left of St Philip’s main entrance - at the fire pit (7500 St Philips Ct, Falls Church, VA). S’mores, snacks, and refreshments will be provided for enjoyment, but please feel free to bring your own snacks or beverages to share! Seating is available, and lawn chairs are also encouraged.
Talk Details: Forgiveness seems straightforward ... until it isn't. How do we live forgiveness when someone isn't safe anymore? What do we do when we think we have forgiven someone but find that anger resurfacing over and over again, no matter how many times we bring it to confession? And is forgiving the most egregious things even right? Discover the struggle, weight, freedom, and power of forgiveness through a true story of St Rafqa, a Catholic nun sometimes called "the little flower of Lebanon", and how Jesus can make possible this same freedom in your life too.
Speaker Bio: Sr. Orianne Pietra René is a religious sister with the Daughters of St. Paul. Born and raised in Canada, she made her first vows in 2021, and is currently serving in social media ministry from Alexandria, VA. The Daughters of St. Paul, also known as “The Media Nuns,” are missionaries sent forth in the spirit of Saint Paul the Apostle whose heart burned with his great love for Jesus. We are called to proclaim the Gospel to the world through the most effective means of communication, and to make reparation for sins committed through the media. Sr. Orianne will be joined by several Sisters from her community!
