Faith, Feminism, and Being Unfinished III: Love Wins

Join the Gender+ Justice Initiative for an inspiring evening of music, conversation, and a call for global gender justice, featuring Michaela Harrison and the Women’s Ordination Conference, inspired by Anne E. Patrick's transformative work.

This event marks the third installment of the Faith, Feminism, and Being Unfinished series, inspired by the writings of theologian Anne E. Patrick, SNJM (1941–2016), whose work continues to influence contemporary conversations on faith, conscience, and gender.

Faith, Feminism, and Being Unfinished III: Love Wins will feature musical performances by artist Michaela Harrison (SFS ’92), followed by a conversation led by Katie Lacz and Kate McElwee from the Women’s Ordination Conference. The discussion will be inspired by the 2009 Madeleva Lecture by Anne E. Patrick, SNJM (1941–2016), on , which explores the intersection of women’s lived experiences, creativity, and spiritual reflection.

Previous events in this series have focused on Patrick’s On Being Unfinished: Collected Writings of Anne E. Patrick (Orbis, 2017) and her influential 1975 essay, A Conservative Case for the Ordination of Women.

We invite attendees to reflect on Anne Patrick’s contributions to theological discourse, especially at a time where demands for global gender justice in all spaces, particularly within faith-based communities, is growing stronger.

Event Schedule:

• 4:00 PM – Guest Arrival, followed by a short welcome
• 4:20 PM – 20-minute musical performance by Michaela Harrison (SFS ’92)
• 4:40 PM – 30-minute remarks by Katie Lacz and Kate McElwee from the Women’s Ordination Conference
• 5:15 PM – 20-minute musical performance and closing blessing
• 5:35 PM – Mingle until 6:00 PM
