The Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival is a cherished annual event that has been a staple in the community for over 70 years. Taking place every third weekend in March, this festival is a celebration of creativity and artistry that transforms the flower-lined streets of Fairhope into a vibrant hub of activity. This beloved spring tradition draws in more than 200 artists from across the country, showcasing a diverse array of fine art and handmade crafts. As the festival unfolds over three days, the local population of 25,000 swells to nearly 300,000, highlighting the event's significance and the warm, welcoming spirit of Fairhope.
As the festival approaches its landmark 75th anniversary in 2027, it is poised to be a true 'Diamond in the Art,' reflecting the community's commitment to celebrating incredible artists and fostering creativity. Wendy Soles, the Chair of the 75th Fairhope Arts & Crafts Festival, emphasizes the festival's role in uniting the community and showcasing its unique spirit. The Fairhope Arts Festival Foundation, established in 2016, has a history of giving back to local organizations and students, reinforcing the festival's dedication to enhancing the local arts scene.
