Fair Oaks Garden Workday

Join us for a Garden Work Day at Fair Oaks Elementary! Service hours are available for MDUSD Students only when accompanied at the event by a parent or legal guardian. Unattended minors will be turned away at the gate.

About the Garden: The Fair Oaks Garden is an institution at the school that has been around for 10 years. The garden hosts Growing Healthy Kids Garden Class, serving all grade levels over the course of the year. In it, students study nature, plants, and get to engage with learning in a hands-on way. The garden is a cared for Growing Healthy Kids Garden Garden Educator Gabi Gebhardt, community members, and students. 

Help needed: At this work day, volunteers will:

• Prepare beds for winter planning
• Work on campus & garden clean-up
• Rebuild passiflora tunnel
• Plant blueberries

You should Bring: If you have gardening tools or personal gloves, please bring them with you. Donations of stakes or cattle-panel style fencing are welcome. For your comfort, please bring a water bottle, hat, and/or sunscreen.
