Faculty of Education ECR/MCR Building your big ideas: Taking the long view on developing a research program (next 2-3 years)

Overview session for both ECR and MCR- 4th August, 1-3 pm. Venue: Deans Board room level 9 (Room 904), 100 Leicester Street Building.

ECR session 27th October, 10am-12pm . Meeting room level 8 (Room 814-815), 100 Leicester street Building.

MCR session 27th October, 1-3pm. Meeting room level 8 (Room 814-815), 100 Leicester street Building.

These workshops provide a structured, collaborative process for developing your research ideas and designing research projects (with research mentors also involved). The workshops will address robust problem crafting, project design and planning and pathways to support (including grants and other potential funding).

You will be asked to come prepared with a brief summary of your planned focus- ½ to 1 page to be circulated to the wider group prior to the sessions. Through the workshop ECRs/MCRs will develop and ‘pitch’ the project (what, why, how and why me?). There will be time allocated and library support in anticipating, documenting and communicating research impact – breadth of definition and indicators (traditional and non-traditional).

For the second session, here will be opportunities for separate workshop groups for ECR/MCR.

Additional follow up sessions will also be considered.

Participants are expected to attend both sessions.
