About this Event

Supported by the Graduate Student Association, the Faculty of Arts will be partnering with the Australian Writers Guild to hold a short script competition.

Please submit entries 12 pages and under to [email protected] by 11:59pm Monday, December 15th for consideration. Prizes include 10 sponsored AWG Student Memberships to help young writers transitioning into their professional careers with industry support services.

The Australian Writers Guild’s purpose is to promote the role and recognition of – and rewards for – performance writing in Australian society and culture; to pursue a thriving industry environment; to protect and advance rights and opportunities and to promote excellence and improve professional standards, conditions and remuneration.
The event is sponsored by the University of Melbourne Graduate Student Association (GSA); an independent, membership based, association that represents all graduate coursework and research students at the University of Melbourne.
The University of Melbourne acknowledges the Traditional Owners of the unceded land on which we work, learn and live: the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung, and we are grateful to the Traditional Owners, Elders and Knowledge Holders of all Indigenous nations and clans who have been instrumental in our reconciliation journey.

In making this Acknowledgment of Country we commit to respectful and responsible conduct towards all others according to the Traditional lores of this land, and we encourage partitipation from First Nations writers at every opportunity.
