🎁 The Fundraiser:

In order to continue providing these essential services to the community, we need your help!

Our goal is to raise $1 million through a series of fundraising events.

JaJa PDX is facing some major challenges and we need to make changes to the venue to meet the growing demand for our programs, increase the occupancy levels of our space, and bring affordable circus arts to the community.

By purchasing the building in 2022, we have secured an artistic space for decades to come, but there are significant costs associated with these changes:

  • Sprinkler System (materials + labor + city fee)
  • Seismic upgrades (materials + labor + city fee)
  • Replace windows (materials + labor + city fee)
  • Bathroom Upgrades (materials + labor + city fee)
  • Re-zone Property (city fee)

We would be honored to have you become a contributor to our creative space and support the amazing things that we are doing in the community!

If you are interested in contributing your resources to our fundraiser, we would be thrilled to hear from you:

🎭 The Founders:
Mariano Di Yorio

Born in Argentina in 1979, Mariano co-founded the first urban social circus school in Buenos Aires, “Trivenchi”, and was later discovered and brought to North America by Cirque du Soleil in 2008.

He performed with Cirque until 2017 in "Believe" with Chris Angel. In Argentina, he worked in circus production, venue event planning, was a comic actor, clown and juggler (not a singer).

In North America he performed with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas from 2008-2017. Mariano then founded JaJa Woods in Las Vegas where he worked until his family moved to Portland. He continues on his journey as an artist and works towards social practices that can enrich the human existence.

Jodi Reiter

Jodi Reiter is a multi-disciplinary aerialist, dancer, mover, and creator that has worked for over two decades as an artist, collaborator, and instructor around the world. Jodi is known for her work with Franco Dragone’s “Le Reve".

Blue

A mixed-media and social-forms artist who works to create opportunities for artists in Portland. The art he creates is often related to social justice initiatives designed to raise awareness, and have a positive impact. Blue was a lead artist for the UFCW 555 campaign for wage equity, created a gallery for incarcerated artists, and co-founded Gallery X.

Our space is filled with makers and creators of all types...

🤡 JaJa Circus:

In addition to our art programs, Jaja PDX has a circus school where we regularly host circus performing arts and dance workshops. Our workshops and classes provide a unique and dynamic way for people to express themselves while building new skills.

We work to foster a collaborative and non-competitive atmosphere where all are encouraged to develop new skills, build strength, connect with others, achieve their goals, and have fun. We offer professional instructors who specialize in a variety of circus arts and disciplines.

🎨 The Haven:

The Haven is a collective of painters, musicians, builders, healers, licensed psychedelic therapists, digital artists, performance artists, and many more. This collection of artists facilitate painting classes, and provide a space for people to come together, learn new skills, and express themselves in new ways that can be life changing.

The Haven studio is one of the most impressive art galleries in Portland and visitors are continually blown away by the works of art created within these walls.
