About this Event
Utah Foster Care is hosting its annual Faces of Foster Care event on May 1, 2025. As part of that event, there will be an art exhibit featuring the work of those involved in any part of the foster care journey. This includes children in care, foster parents, primary families, birth children in foster/adoptive families, adoptive parents, etc. We are accepting submissions from children, youth, and adults of all ages. We would love to feature your artwork!
For this event, we are primarily requesting 2D visual art forms such as drawings, paintings, photography, mixed media, framed poetry, etc. However, we may be able to accept 3D art such as sculpture or ceramics on a case-by-case basis. Please contact Anna Smyth ([email protected]) in advance if you would like to submit 3D art. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate artwork greater than 36" in any dimension or greater than 60 lbs.
Our theme for the Faces of Foster Care event and art exhibit is Identity & Belonging. We invite participants to consider this theme as they create and submit their artwork. While the interpretation of Identity & Belonging is in no way limited, some pieces could include depictions of family(ies) in various forms, sibling relationships, homes, journeys of growth and healing, and more. Artwork must be sensitive to the experiences of others and should not include depictions of violence, substance use, or other graphic imagery.
By submitting, you’ll not only have the chance to showcase your art, but you’ll also be entered into a raffle to win a $150 gift card! Additionally, submitted artwork may be featured on Utah Foster Care’s social media platforms and our website, giving your work the visibility it deserves.
Please fill out the following form to submit your work for display. All submissions must adhere to the guidelines outlined and be turned in by April 23, 2025 to any Utah Foster Care office throughout the state.
Your artwork will be returned to you following the event. If you would like, you may donate your artwork to Utah Foster Care, in which case your artwork will be used to promote our mission and tell the stories of foster care.
If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected].
