This beginner-friendly drawing class invites adults of all experience levels to explore the fundamentals of self-portraiture. Using mirrors, photo references, and guided exercises, students will learn how to observe their own features and translate what they see onto the page. The class will focus on core drawing skills including facial proportions, simplified shapes, basic anatomy, line quality, and shading. Emphasis is placed on building confidence, learning to see more accurately, and studying old master drawings—rather than creating a “perfect” likeness. No prior drawing experience is required. This class offers a supportive, low-pressure environment for beginners, while more experienced artists can strengthen foundational skills through focused practice. All materials and techniques will be explained step by step, making this an accessible and rewarding entry point into portrait drawing.
