Face of Pride
About this Event
🌈 Faces of Pride 🌈
Every face tells a story.
Join us for an afternoon of creativity, self-expression, storytelling, and community as we celebrate the many beautiful identities that make up our LGBTQIA+ community and our allies.
Together, we'll create a shared playlist filled with songs that help tell our stories, then spend time decorating masks that reflect who we are. Your mask can celebrate your gender identity, sexuality, culture, spirituality, neurodivergence, creativity, lived experiences, personal journey, or any part of yourself that feels meaningful. There is no right or wrong way to participate—this is an invitation to explore, express, and celebrate what makes you uniquely you.
Once our masks are complete, we'll gather for an open mic experience where participants are invited to share the story behind their creation. Tell a coming out story, share a meaningful life experience, speak about your identity, read a poem, celebrate your joy, or simply share what your mask represents. Whether your story is funny, tender, powerful, complicated, or triumphant, you are welcome here.
As a thank you for sharing, anyone who creates a mask and takes the mic will receive a free drink ticket.
After the storytelling portion of the evening, we'll capture the moment with photographs. Participants will have the opportunity to be photographed in their masks and take photos with friends, chosen family, and fellow community members.

About The Karma House
The Karma House is a community-centered tea and kava bar dedicated to connection, creativity, wellness, and belonging. Through events, workshops, performances, support groups, and community gatherings, we strive to create a space where people can show up as they are and build meaningful relationships.
Kava, one of our signature offerings, is a traditional beverage prepared from the root of the kava plant (Piper methysticum). For thousands of years, kava has been used ceremonially and socially throughout many Pacific Island cultures, including Fiji, Vanuatu, Tonga, and Samoa. We serve kava with deep respect and gratitude for the Indigenous peoples who have stewarded these traditions and shared them with the world.
