EXTRAordinary People Project — Documentary Premiere: Episode One
About this Event
It takes a little extra to turn ordinary into extraordinary.
EXTRAordinary People Project was built around a simple belief: some of the most extraordinary stories belong to the people we almost overlook.
The person standing next to you in line. The stranger you pass on the street. The face you think you understand before they ever say a word.
Behind those faces are lives shaped by loss, survival, reinvention, faith, failure, second chances, and the quiet decision to keep going when no one was watching.
On September 11, we are bringing those stories into one room.
The evening will begin with a gallery of black-and-white portraits from the project, each paired with the story behind the image. Not polished inspiration. Not perfect endings. Real people, telling the truth about what it took to become who they are.
We will then premiere the first episode of the EXTRAordinary People documentary series, followed by a live conversation that takes the story beyond the screen.
There will be food. Wine. Conversation. But more than anything, there will be people.
People meeting outside of algorithms and headlines. People listening to one another. People being reminded that we rarely know what someone has survived simply by looking at them.
And the evening has a purpose beyond the room.
Every ticket helps support creative opportunities for talented young artists and children from under-resourced families who may have the ability, curiosity, and passion to pursue visual art and journalism, but not always the resources to do so.
This is not a gala with a cause attached to it.
The cause is why we are gathering in the first place.
Come as you are. Look a little closer. Stay for the stories.
