Expressive Gouache Workshop: Capture a Scene with Color

Have you always wondered how an artist can capture the essence of any location using just a few brushstrokes and a limited colour palette? Now you can learn how to do this yourself, in this workshop.
Over the course of an afternoon, we’ll learn the technique of creating an image, through colour and form, based on your own observations. We won’t be aiming for a detailed, finished painting, but rather a more intuitive, abstract image using colour notes. This way, we’ll capture an impression of the original subject or image.
This technique is very useful when you want to create one or more visual memories with limited resources or time, at home, in your studio, or even outdoors, or on travels.
In this workshop, we deliberately use a limited basic palette of gouache colors, drawing inspiration from images. We work on a small scale so that you can finish your piece in a single afternoon and take it home with you. You don’t need any prior experience for this painting workshop – you’ll pick it up here!
