Join Kirsten in a day of creativity, inspiration, and relaxation. Explore expressive ways to create calligraphy while you unwind by the sea, this workshop offers the perfect blend of artistic exploration and coastal charm.
Designed for beginners and seasoned calligraphers alike, the emphasis is on capturing strength in the marks, rather than achieving perfect letterforms, making each piece distinctive and full of personality.
In simple steps and with stunning live demonstrations, Kirsten will break down techniques and teach you how to use folded and pointed ruling pens, to confidently create energetic calligraphy, where speed and spontaneity take centre stage.
Using a Haiku poem for your final piece, (a Japanese poetic form that consists of three lines, with five syllables in the first line, seven in the second, and five in the third) you will design a style and layout that conveys the meaning of the words through the gestures of your calligraphy.
