Exploring why men die by suicide - with Dr Sussie Bennett

Join Calm Your Mind for our upcoming half‑day conference as part of Men’s Health Week 2026, focusing on male suicide prevention and improving outcomes for men in our communities.

This year we are delighted to welcome Dr Susie Bennett, a leading researcher at the University of Glasgow whose work focuses on deepening our understanding of suicide risk and the factors that support recovery in men. Dr Bennett’s research brings insight into the challenges men face and the opportunities for more effective prevention.

We will also be joined by Brian Crane, founder of Thrive Guys, a men’s mental health and wellbeing organisation. Brian will share an honest and powerful lived‑experience perspective, offering real‑world insight into the barriers men encounter and the support that can make a meaningful difference.

This event is for anyone who lives and/or works in Halton.

There will also be a small marketplace of local services/groups that support men in the community.
