Exploring Weaving Techniques - 4 week course

This short course will give participants the chance to extend their weaving knowledge and gain confidence to explore further different weave structures for themselves after the workshop.

During the 4 weeks you will have the opportunity to carousel around the looms, enabling you to go home with 4 different samples of weaving, this will include, though not limited to herringbone, monks belt and overshot, as well as lots of practical knowledge. Although we will be using the beautiful old dobby looms in the Weaving Shed, all the weave structures explored will be transferable to 4 shaft table looms.

The course will start on Friday 27th September and continue weekly on a Friday until 18th October between 10am - 4pm.

Course level: this workshop is aimed at those who have experience of weaving on a shaft loom and are familiar with the basics of weaving.

There is the possibility to book onto Loom Hire on 25th, 26th and 27th October and continue to weave one of the weave structures explored within this course. Please note that you need to book onto this separately.

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. As materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite’s booking fee is non-refundable.

If we need to cancel the course for any reason your ticket will be fully refunded.
