Participants will learn the basics of watercolor and creative techniques in
Part 1: Experimentation and exploration of creative techniques and color theory.
Create a color swatch chart and a technique sheet. Discover the unique character of watercolor and ways to use them.
Part 2: Developing your craft…Using an analogous color scheme, wet on wet, bleeding and sgraffito techniques participants will create an underwater composition.
Part 3. Explore and Experiment… Using a warm color scheme, lifting, drybrush and glazing participants will create an autumn landscape.
Part 4. Reflect and refine…Using a combination of learned skills and techniques participants will create a seasonal composition.
The workshop is designed for adults and teens 15 years or older. The registration fee is $90 for LACA members and $105 for non-members, which includes all supplies. Those interested can register online at ludingtonartscenter.org or call 231-854-2787.
Richelle Daniels has nearly 20 years of experience teaching art to preschool-9th grade students at Cadillac Area Public Schools and art programs for youth at ArtWorks in Big Rapids. Since retiring in January 2022, she has relocated to Ludington and is rediscovering her creativity and personal artistic journey by exploring mixed media, watercolor, fiber design, and much more. She is looking forward to sharing her creative experience with others and learning some new things about herself.
